NOW through December 31st - Holiday Trail of Lights 2011 at Lake Hope State Park - 6pm to 10pm; Open every day in December! Hike through the forest to view our 100,000+ light display, including animated scenes, decorated trees and landscape lighting, some activated by your motion. Start at the Nature Center. On Dec. 3, 9, 10, 16 & 17 the Nature Center will be open from 6 to 8 pm and Santa will be here to greet the little ones. TODAY - Stained Glass Workshop - 10am to noon; Learn basic copper foil stained glass techniques with Audrey Martin. Classes are two hours long and all supplies are provided. At the end of the class you will walk away with your completed project and the knowledge to dive into more sophisticated glass projects. Fee: $25; All supplies are provided. Join us for a hike through Old Man's Cave to the little visited Broken Rock Falls and see what makes this place so special. New Year's Eve at the Brass Ring - Ring in the New Year with a special dinner at the Brass Ring Restaurant featuring Chef Moe's culinary creations and legendary desserts. Begin with your choice of Lobster Bisque or Fresh Spring Greens Salad. New Year's Eve at The Lodge at Hide-A-Way Hills - Please join us for a New Year's Eve Celebration at the Lodge. Public welcome. Make your reservations today! Two Dinner Seatings: 1st seating 5:30 - Guests will select an arrival time between 5:30-6:30 and dine with us from 5:30 - 8:30pm; times can be flexible; 2nd seating 8:30 - Guests will select an arrival time between 8:30-9:30 and will have that table for the remainder of the evening. NOW THROUGH DECEMBER 31st - The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio offers "Once Upon a Page," an exhibition of award-winning children's book illustrations from the Mazza Museum, Tuesdays - Saturdays 10am to 4pm; Sundays 1pm to 4pm; Sixty-six works will be on display, including winners of the Caldecott Medal, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award and the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award. As a complement to the exhibition, the galleries will include a "Secret Garden" reading area for children and their grownups. The Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture Books has the distinction of being the first and largest teaching museum in the world specializing in original artwork from picture books. His Pencil Sharpener Museum, previously located at his home, has been moved to the Welcome Center and is open daily. This amazing collection of over 3400 pencil sharpeners has been featured in national magazines and is reputed to be the largest collection in the United States. DAILY (Mon - Sat) The Columbus Washboard Company Museum and Gift Shop - There is so much history from our company and building's past that we wish to share it with everyone. The tour will not only provide historical information, but will also include the opportunity to observe the manufacturing of washboards, and participate in making music with the washboard. The factory will operate daily, as usual, with our washboards being produced one at a time by hand. We are the only manufacturer of washboards remaining in the United States. Our gift shop features our washboards, memorabilia and new line of vintage soaps. The Museum is a WiFi hotspot and offers snacks and beverages, for a place to relax and take care of business. Tours will be offered Monday through Friday at 10:00am, noon, and 2:00pm; Saturdays by appointment. Special arrangements will be made for large groups.
